Curriculum-Learn the basics of sewing by taking beginning sewing class at Peter Jones Gallery

Time: 6-9pm

Objective: Each student will learn how to put their creative ideas into motion by creating a pattern and learning to cut from their own pattern and sew the skirt together to create a hip and unique skirt that functions with your  fabric of choice. On a technical note the students will learn how to construct a skirt by learning to piece it and how to line the skirt and surge the seams and professionally learn to install a zipper or button, snap etc.

Design your own skirtby creating a pattern and sewing the project

  1. Pins with pin cushion (I recommend the sewing kit it has all the tools and things you need to properly rip and piece the garment)

  3. ruler metal one and tape measurer
  4. pencils
  5. thread to match the fabric
